Andrew Sosnowitz is President and Chief Investment Officer of Buttonwood Capital Management. With over 25 years of wealth management and investment experience, he leads the firm’s strategic direction, setting its long-term investment approach and overseeing portfolio construction, research, and tax-efficient implementation.

Alongside his leadership responsibilities, he works directly with clients, particularly those with complex needs, to develop comprehensive financial plans, manage portfolios, and coordinate tax and estate considerations within a cohesive wealth management framework.

Prior to founding Buttonwood in 2009, he spent more than a decade as an Assistant Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor in Merrill Lynch’s Global Private Client Group. There, he gained extensive experience evaluating opportunities across asset classes and market cycles, working with traditional and alternative managers, and advising clients on advanced estate planning techniques, including complex trust and corporate structures.

Andrew earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and completed post-baccalaureate studies at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Additionally, he holds the CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor), AAMS® (Accredited Asset Management Specialist), and CMFC® (Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor) designations awarded by the College for Financial Planning. Andrew supports organizations such as Chances 4 Children, reflecting his belief that every child deserves a family. He continues to advocate for both domestic and international adoption.

A Florida native, Andrew, now calls the Valley of the Sun home. He lives in Phoenix with his wife, Laura, and their sons, Blake and Caleb.
