Andrew Sosnowitz CRPC®, AAMS®, CMFC®
Andrew is the President & Chief Investment Officer of Buttonwood Capital Management. With over 20 years of investment experience, Andrew focuses his efforts on working with clients to develop their overall financial strategy, manage their investments, and integrate their tax and estate planning into a cohesive wealth management plan.
Prior to launching an independent wealth management firm in 2009, Andrew spent more than a decade in the Merrill Lynch Global Private Client Group. Serving as an Assistant Vice President & Wealth Management Advisor, Andrew gained extensive experience vetting investment opportunities across multiple asset classes and through a range of market environments working with both traditional and alternative managers. In addition, Andrew counseled clients on implementing a vast array of investment and financial planning strategies for families and individuals with complex estate planning and corporate structures.
Awarded a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and post-baccalaureate credentials at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Andrew holds a CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor), AAMS® (Accredited Asset Management Specialist), and CMFC® (Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor) – awarded through the College for Financial Planning.
Andrew is involved in community service through such organizations as “Chances 4 Children” as well as “Both Ends Burning,” supporting his belief that every child deserves a family. He continues to serve as an advocate for both domestic and international adoption.
Having grown up in the sunshine state of Florida, Andrew’s decision to reside in the Valley of the Sun should be no surprise. He shares his Phoenix home with his wife Laura, and their growing boys, Blake & Caleb.

Sean is a Wealth Manager at Buttonwood Capital Management with over a decade of investment experience. He is an integral part of the firm as a contributing member of the Wealth Management and Financial Planning teams, dedicating his efforts to managing our clients’ overall financial picture.
Prior to joining Buttonwood, Sean was an Assistant Vice President with JPMorgan Private Bank, advising successful families, private and public companies, and charitable foundations on asset allocation strategies and providing recommendations based on client’s financial goals and risk profiles. He began his career as a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones & Company.
Sean holds a double major in Economics & Business Administration from Principia College with a specialization in MIS, where he graduated with Phi Alpha Eta honors. Sean proudly holds a CFP® (Certified Financial Planner®) designation – the highest standard of excellence for financial planning. This highlights his expertise in estate, tax, and retirement planning while advising as a fiduciary for our clients.
As an Arizona native, Sean resides with his wife, Brooke, and plans to build a family in the coming years.
Phillip Wiltfong, CFA
Phillip Wiltfong, CFA
Phillip is a Wealth Management Associate at Buttonwood Capital Management with a diverse background of investment experience. He is an integral part of the firm and a contributing member of the Wealth Management team and the Investment Policy Committee. He dedicates his efforts to managing our clients’ overall financial picture.
Before joining Buttonwood, Phillip worked as a consultant at FactSet Research Systems, collaborating with some of the largest institutional investment managers nationwide. He has deep expertise in portfolio construction, research analysis, and investment analytics.
Phillip holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arizona, where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. He also proudly earned the CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst®) designation, the highest recognition in the global investment management industry. It demonstrates superior competency in advanced portfolio management, financial expertise, and technical skills underpinned by ethical conduct in the highest standards of practice.
An Arizona native, Phillip enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
Rafael Ruiz
Rafael Ruiz
Rafael is an Operations Manager at Buttonwood Capital Management. He provides business
leadership serving as a centralized point person for all firm operations. Rafael concentrates his
efforts in the areas of technological developments, project management, human
resources, and strategic business planning.
Prior to joining Buttonwood, Rafael was an Investment Data Analyst with Vanguard where he
focused on fixed income data sets. During this role he worked with portfolio managers and
fixed income instrument traders to create processes and controls with the purpose of capturing
any inaccuracies within the firm’s investment book. Additionally, Rafael worked in Security
Pricing where he led a valuation team focusing on domestic fixed income and non-U.S.
domiciled securities.
Rafael earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Arizona State University.
Rafael enjoys spending his free time with his wife Barbara and their two children Melanie and
Elena.
Ashley Brown
Ashley Brown
Ashley is the Client Services Manager for Buttonwood Capital Management. She is responsible for creating and implementing efficient processes and procedures to ensure the highest levels of client experience. In addition, Ashley provides operational support to the Portfolio and Wealth Management Teams.
Prior to joining Buttonwood, Ashley served as an Investment Advisor with Edelman Financial Engines, as well as Vanguard, where she assisted clients in the areas of retirement planning and investment management.
The confluence of her strong financial background with her prior management experience at a world-leading health and wellness resort allows Buttonwood clients to benefit from her holistic view of the powerful and symbiotic connection between personal health and financial wellness.
Ashley graduated Summa Cum Laude as a Bachelor of Science recipient from Northern Arizona University. An Arizona native, Ashley enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
David Haytaian
David Haytaian
David is a Client Service Associate at Buttonwood Capital Management with a demonstrated
history of working in the financial services industry. He provides operational support to the
portfolio and wealth management teams.
Prior to joining Buttonwood, David was a Wealth Management Account Service Associate at
Morgan Stanley where he assisted advisors and clients with day-to-day financial needs.
